  7. There are a few other important files that we would like to bring your attention to. These are:

  9. The User’s Guide

  11. Even though the software is easy to use, there is a comprehensive User’s Guide which covers every feature of the software. The User’s Guide can be found in the “Users Guide & License Agreement” folder.

  15. StuffIt InstallerMaker information on how to License StuffIt InstallerMaker can be found in the file named “How To License IM”.  The actual License Agreement can be found in the “Users Guide & License Agreement” folder.

  29. Upgrading to StuffIt InstallerMaker 3.0 from StuffIt InstallerMaker 2.x
  30.

If you are installing this version of StuffIt InstallerMaker to replace version 2.0.x of StuffIt InstallerMaker, there are certain files from your old version which will be automatically deleted upon installation. These obsolete files reside in the System Folder. The installer will delete these items to ensure compatibility with the new (and much improved) StuffIt InstallerMaker 3.0.

However, files in your old StuffIt InstallerMaker™ Folder will NOT be automatically deleted. These older components should not be used after installing StuffIt InstallerMaker 3.0. You may wish to manually delete the items installed by earlier versions to recover disk space. It is especially important that you delete the any old versions of the StuffIt InstallerMaker application, so that you don't accidently launch them instead of the new 3.0 version.

Next, you will need to convert all of your 2.0.x files to 3.0 format.  This is done by simply opening the old archive with 3.0, then choosing “Convert...” from the file menu, choosing the “template” option.  You will then need to recompress all of your files into this new 3.0 archive.  Using this method allows you to save all your old package settings, archive level information etc.  You will quickly see that InstallerMaker 3.0 compress files smaller than the previous versions!
